[19.04.06] An Explanation: April 19, 2006

So what the hell happened to the Rubber Canada podcast?

OK...here goes. I was not kidnapped by an army of latex-clad female renegades who enslave men and force them to perform sexual acts for food (although that would be great) and I did not experience a sudden desire to join a monastery in the Himalayas in order to find spiritual enlightenment. The simple fact is...I ran out of time. One of the drawbacks of a successful business is the utter lack of time that can be directed towards non-profit activities. The power of the almighty dollar and the latex it can purchase is definitely the King in the land of podcast vs. moolah. I had also hoped to hear back from listeners much more than I did (and thank you for those of you who did write in to ask what happened). For all I knew, not a single soul was listening (despite the web stats that claimed I was getting 10,000 hits a month to this site).

I do think that the scope of the podcast is too narrow, and if I ever rekindle the broadcast it will be about more than rubber in Canada. Talk about an obscure topic, even for a monthly show! One might as well discuss the state of the beaver pelt in remote Northern communities 12 times a year. But I digress.

I do want to continue the podcast, but I NEED YOUR INPUT. I can't come up with an hour's worth of content every month on my own. Email me about what is happening in your neck of the woods. Fill me in. Let me be the re-distributor of your news. I have always said that Rubber Canada was OUR podcast, so pitch in and let's make this show something worth listening to.

Your humble digital servant,
RubberHoky

The weekend was a complete success, establishing a very high standard for future fetish events in Canada. Be sure to check out the next Rubber Canada podcast to find out why!

[14.07.05] Next Show Scheduled for July 24th

The next Rubber Canada podcast has been scheduled for July 24, 2005. It turns out that one show per month is possible, and anything more than that is not. Better to have a show once a month done well than twice a month full of shite!

The next podcast will hopefully feature a conversation with Stephen Hosie of the B&D Emporium in Edmonton, Alberta. Yes, that's right. Alberta has a fetish scene!

Until then, check out the June 26th broadcast if you have not done so and visit some of the links below.

Spread the word!

Upcoming Show - June 26th: Interview with Eric Paradis

The first "real" podcast of Rubber Canada is being prepared and will be published on the 26th of June, 2005. The show features a fascinating and very informative interview with Eric Paradis, the director/organizer of Montréal's upcoming Fetish Weekend as well as a major player in the Fetish Fridays/Club Sin events. In addition to the feature interview, a fetish video from Gwen Media will be reviewed. As always, there will be a musical interlude from electronica artist Kickass Jetboat.

Keep your aggregator frosty and check out the show!

Rubber Canada lives!

The very first show is online: June 12, 2005

So it begins...a meager beginning to be sure, but even the biggest shows start out as some obscure pile of aural dung somewhere in the world, non? The audio levels are probably bad, this website is very sparse, and no one even knows it is here...but dammit, the subject matter is so very important! Right? Are you hooked yet?

Good. ;-)

If you have any comments, suggestions, events, news, whatever...send them to podcast@rubbercanada.com and they will be heard!

Rubber Canada is our show. Let's make it great!
